Number 22- That's One Beautiful Brain You Got There!

In choosing a soul mate one has to consider many different aspects of the person that you are considering. Although I don't plan on getting married any time soon, I have done some thinking about what is important to me in the man that I want to spend the rest of my life with. It would be a lie to say that I am not attracted to the outward appearance of guys, but that is not what will determine my relationships with the opposite sex. A good Christian character is the most important thing and the first thing that I am going to look for. Also I would want to consider their personality and if it is compatible with my own. Another important question to answer is whether or not that someone would be able to take care of and sustain me. Is he a hard worker? Does he have a good family life with his sisters and mothers? What does his father treat his wife like? What is his sense of humor? These things will all come before appearance. When I really think about it, there is a lot more then physical beauty that I want in my man. If I met someone who has a wonderful personality and character, an intelligent young man, but he was not attractive physically I think that I would be perfectly content to be with him.

Number 21-

While womens' rights have greatly improved from when women were only allowed to do certain things such as house cleaning and cooking, there are many occupations and positions that we as women do not occupy. As a woman myself, you would assume that I think there should be total equality among men and women in their jobs. Surprisingly enough this is not the case. God has made men and women differently. In the Garden of Eden God created Eve secondly. She was to be Adam's helper and companion. I believe that this principle is something God intends to be carried out in our lives now. We must also realize that our capabilities and purposes are different. Men are better for positions in politics because they do not act on emotion as much as women, therefore can make decisions without as much of a biased way of reasoning. Women are better at jobs that have to deal with people and family. Also, men are built differently and are much more suited for construction work then women. This is not to say that we should outlaw women from holding construction jobs, but simply to say that most of us are not as capable. In the end God knows what is best for our own happiness. It is our place to trust and obey the perimeters He has set up.

Number 20- Thanksgiving break... or borken arm?

You see the person in the white gi? Yeah, well that's me. And the guy in the blue, well that's my cousin Kyle. Yeah, in this picture I'm just about to break his arm. Well... not in reality. But it was something like this over my Thanksgiving break. When I went over to my cousin's house to have a Thanksgiving dinner we decided that it would be fun to have a jiu-jitsu match. We went outside and wrestled on the lawn while the adults watched and cheered. It was great fun! Although I have a bit of a quirky bunch of relatives, I love them very much. I had a great break.

Number 19- Gladiator Days

E. B. White makes an interesting statement when he says, "Television hangs on the questionable theory that whatever happens anywhere should be sensed everywhere. If everyone is going to be able to see everything, in the long run all sights may lose whatever rarity value they once possessed, and it may well turn out that people, being able to see and hear practically everything, will be specially interested in almost nothing."

What strikes me most about this quote is that White says the value of what we see will be lost. I completely agree with this. Even in the last few years of my life I have noticed a remarkable change in the morals of the media. We have gone from a society of God fearing, upright people to a degredated generation who looks to feed their carnal appetite. Although this may seem a bit extreme to some, I wouldn't be suprised if we ended up like the Romans who thirsted so much for more entertainement that they eventually found themsevles forcing men to fight for their lives. Sure, right now we wouldn't think of actually allowing people to get muredered in the name of entertainment, but what happens when the fake murders of TV become boring because we've seen them a million times over. This nation will eventaully want more. Already we see the results of the media on our young people who go to their schools and shoot their fellow students.

This is why I believe TV is destructive and that it is changing America. If you have one (like I do) you should be ashamed.

Number 18- Alone with Yourself

“The worst loneliness is not to be comfortable with oneself.”
- Mark Twain

By this Mr. Twain is saying that without self confidence and peace, you cannot really feel the completeness of companionship. Instead of being able to think of those you are with, you dwell on your own incapabilities in social, mental, or spiritual areas and thereby keep yourself from enjoying others. In this state you are lonely even when surrounded by loved ones and even more lonely when physically withdrawn from family or friends.

This is something I believe that everyone struggles with. We stress about what others are saying about us, or what they might think of us. I myself have have tendencies in this direction, but like my earlier blog said, “the world doesn’t revolve around you.” In other words, people don’t think about us like we think they do so we don’t have to worry about them thinking about us. It is also helpful to know that our Heavenly Father thinks highly of us and His view of us is the only one that counts anyway.

I have come to love my time alone. I enjoy sitting in my room and journaling or reading a good book. I don’t have to feel uncomfortable or lonely with myself because my Heavenly Father is always by my side.

Number 17- Older Students

Adults heading back to school can be good or bad depending on the situation. In some cases it is a very good thing. Perhaps a man or woman has worked at the local breakfast joint for the last ten years. They have enough money to sustain themselves but not enough to have a family, something that they want very badly. In their case it would be good for them to return to college in order to have a better education thereby being able to obtain a better job. On the other hand, if a single mother with three kids was trying to return to school and work two jobs while taking care of her kids, I don’t think college is the answer. While it would eventually get her a better job to provide for her kids, it will take too long and in the mean time her family will suffer for it.
Older students may face certain drawbacks when returning to school. Some of these may be the lack of time because of their job or family, a fear of failure like they may have experienced when they were in college before, or simply a fear of being socially unaccepted because of their age.
I believe that older students would be helpful in the improvement of society because of their experience. The older you are the more experienced you are. An older person may find it much easier to apply the things that they learn to reality and thus become a great asset to the working force of America.

Number 16 You Mean to Tell Me, It's Not All About Me?

“The world does not revolve around you.”-unkown

This phrase has crossed the lips of many a mouth and yet I don’t think that many a mind understands how true it really is. I’ve been in company with all kinds of people of all different ages and I’ve found that most think that everyone else is watching them. I strongly believe that this isn’t the case. People are so concerned with doing their own will and their own thing that the wants and the needs of others are often lost.

Selfishness is the inherent path that humans tread. It is the lack of love and care for others. Because of this awful trait we automatically focus in on us, not others. How often do we lay awake at night worrying for the livelihood of our neighbors or our classmates? Maybe its just me, but it seems like we are all pretty concerned with our own problems and our own feelings. The funny thing is that we worry about what other people think of us when other people aren’t even thinking about us. I’ve noticed in my own life I tend to dwell on myself entirely too much. As a follower of Christ my focus should be on the saving of souls (Matt. 28:19,20) and we read in Revelation that all those who dwell on the earth will be lost (Rev. 17:8). Thus we must lift our thoughts higher; we must lift them to the throne of grace where we will find rest for our souls and love for those around us. We must dwell on Jesus and we will then focus on others as we become like Him.

Number 15- Claire a President? Is that Really a Good Idea?

Let me tell you something. If I were ever to be elected president it would be through an unlucky and strange turn of events. I am sorry to say that those under my rule would probably be better off if they were to run to the caves and cry for the rocks to fall down on them. Not only would I deplore the position of presidency, I would be a determent to this awesome nation. I am truly grateful for the president that is in office at this time as well as very thankful that I am not. Nonetheless, if I were president I would make some changes and address several things. These are those that follow:

Terrorism
I believe that we are being too easy on the terrorists. Instead of playing around in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and wherever else we might be at the moment, I think that we should get the job done. We need to wipe out the terrorists instead of trying to please the blind green party participants who don’t realize that peace can only be obtained by war. Once we get rid of the terrorists then peace can reign without the fear of suicide bombers and terrorists’ attacks.

Illegal Immigration
Because of illegal immigrants our economy is plummeting. I would crack down on “illegals” like never before. If they want to come here legally then I am glad to have them but I cannot have them sucking the economy of its life blood while they’re illegal. Once they become legal they can do their part as law abiding citizens to keep this country on her feet.

Health Care
For health care we need to drop the taxes. The reason I say this is because people are having to pay such high taxes for other people’s health care that they cannot pay for their own. My own family has struggled with this so I have experience in this area. If the taxes were dropped then people could fend for themselves and not loose out on their health care because they are paying for the health care of others.

These issues are dearest to my own heart because I believe that they are very important to society and the livelihood of America. We cannot allow terrorism to get under our skin and wipe us out therefore we must abolish it. We cannot let illegal immigration slowly infiltrate us and eat away at our economy thus we must crack down on it, and we cannot let Americans themselves suffer from health problems so we must lower taxes so they will be able to go to the doctor and pay for their broken bones, illnesses and medications. I know that these courses of action will not please everyone in America but I believe that they are they which will bring her out of the slump that she is finding herself in. This is what I would do if I were the president.

Number 13 Favorite Holyday

My favorite holyday has always been Christmas. I can remember from when I was little going to my grandparents’ house to eat good food and unwrap presents under their over-decorated tree. It was such an exciting day for me that I would make calendars to count down every day of December until it was Christmas.
Interestingly enough, that same holyday has now become my least favorite. I still enjoy gathering as a family and being together, but new light has been shed on Christmas that has changed my feelings for it. Christmas is not the day of Jesus’ birth. It is in fact, the day of Tamuz’s birth. Tamuz was the son of an Empress long ago. She claimed that the Sun God has impregnated her with Tamuz and that Tamuz was to be worshipped and celebrated. Thus, on December 25 of that year, a holy-day was erected for him. Many years later the church tried to come to an agreement or compromise with the heathens and by doing that the church changed several things about herself. 1) She gave up the seventh-day and worshipped on Sunday, 2) she melded her days of celebration with that of the heathens (I.e. Jesus’ birth which was in spring now was celebrated on Tamuz’s birthday so both groups of people could celebrate and also holydays such as Valentine’s was adopted to honor the Fertility God).
I’m sad to say that with this knowledge Christmas is a less enjoyable season for me. It seems to be frivolous and unnecessary and I wish the Seventh-day Adventist church did not celebrate it.

Number 12- The President's Sandwich... Not!

If it weren’t for that giant jar of vinegar I wouldn’t be stuck in this pickle. You see, when I was young, just a sprout, I always imagined that I would be part of a veggie sandwich that would be served to the president, or in an award winning salad at the fair. I never imagined that I would be pickled in a huge bottle of vinegar. Sad, I know. Let me tell you about it.

The first morning I saw I was just peeking out of my flower bud. I looked around and found that I was not the only cucumber in the garden. Many of the others were in different stages of development; some were fat, dark green, and curved with age while others were still a minty green and no thicker then a pencil. As we all grew older the dark green cucumbers would be picked. We would all wonder and guess about what they were being used for. I imagined the day that I would be picked. I would be the biggest, most beautiful cucumber in the entire garden and because of this I would be used for something magnificent as the president’s sandwich I mentioned earlier.

The days came and went and with each passing one I became larger and greener. It wasn’t long before it was my time to be picked and all the little buds were wondering where I was going. I knew, however, that I was headed for fame and fortune.

The gardener came and picked me and some others off the vine. We were thrown into a noisy basket full of tomatoes and carrots. Everyone was so excited that they were finally leaving the garden that they all spoke and yelled at the top of their lungs. The ride was bumpy and rather long for my liking, but I had never strayed anywhere before so I suppose I didn’t know what long was.

We arrived at the house where the gardener sorted us into various boxes and crates according to our size, color, and what type of veggie we were. Ours was the only gardener either. There was an entire building full of baskets being sorted by their reapers.

The sorting didn’t take long. The lid to the box that I was in was put over us shutting off day light. I cannot tell you much that happened now for all I knew was that there was much bouncing, groaning and darkness. I heard the words, “load,” ”truck,” “Sacramento” and, “pickles” now and again but I have no idea whether or not that had any bearing on me.
After this awful ride we were dumped out into these caldrons of water where each and every one of us were scrubbed up and down. Next these gardeners, or whatever they were, placed us in jars full of vinegar. They packed us in so tight that one could hardly gasp for air. Once the last cucumber was shoved in, the lid was screwed shut and we sat in a dark room for days.

After this dungeon like stay was over, our jar was placed on what I believe was called a grocery shelf. A day or so later a middle aged gardener, or man I think they call them, took us off the shelf and placed us in a paper bag. Again, I do not know what took place in outside of the bad except for excessive bumping and swishing around. Next thing I knew, we were sitting in front of a whole room of small men, gardeners… or whatever they are.

The lid came off and the man pulled me out of the jar and slapped me onto a piece of wood and then duct-taped me to it for, “stability.” After this two medal prongs were stuck into me that were connected to a light bulb. After the man messed with the prongs and bulb I suddenly felt a surge of energy and the bulb lighted up. He said it was something to do with, “electricity,” and ,”the pickle’s charge.”

Anyway, this is how I ended up duct-taped to this piece of wood and light bulb that you have found me on. They call you a, “Garbage Man,” right? Will you please take me off here now?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said,"Everyone has the power for greatness, not for fame, but for greatness, because greatness is determined by service."Do you agree that everyone has the potenial for greatness? On your blog, state what you believe to be the qualifying features of greatness? Please dig deep! Don't be superficial. This is a concept that has actually made me wonder a lot.

I do believe that Martin Luther King Jr. is right in what he said. The reason that I agree with him is because of what I believe greatness is. Greatness is not determined by one’s fame or power but by a person’s character and the efforts that they put toward bettering the world. You can be great and still be unnoticed by everyone around you. For instance, there is a story in the Gospels about a woman. She was very poor, so poor that she only had two mites to her name. One mite is about a quarter of a cent, therefore she only had half a cent. When she attended church that week there were many rich men and women who dropped handfuls of gold coins into the offering plate while she quietly slipped in her two mites. While the rich men and women had given more money, proportionately they had given much less. She had given everything for the cause of the church and they gave enough to appear good to the people around them. Jesus saw all this and declared that she had given more. She was greater then the others even though only One noticed.

In Dr. Seuss's Horton's Hears a Who, Horton the elephant discovers a tiny planet of living beings on a speck of dust. Other animals urge Horton to throw away the dust speck, not believing that such a tiny world could exist, but Horton refuses. The book ends with this moral:"A person is a person, no matter how small."Write about a current political situation that you think illustrates the idea that even seemingly inconsequential people are important. Use Dr. Seuss's moral as the last sentence of your paragraph. Please cite the source for your information if that applies.

I’m not sure how political this is, but to me it is a big deal. You see, there is this new crave for coffee from a certain coffee shop called Starbucks. This crave is so strong that Starbucks has swept across the nation taking over numerous small-town cafes and coffee shops. These seemingly insignificant morning pit-stops are now being erased from the face of the earth because of a nasty, monopolizing monster that super charges their drinks with extra caffeine in order that its victims will get hooked and buy nothing else. Their caffeine content ranges from 90 mg in the Bottled Frappucino to a total of 330 mg in the Grande coffee. By doing this they are literally causing their buyers to become addicted to their drinks bringing them back over and over again. But what about those little coffee shops? Don’t they matter anymore? They are going out of business because of Starbucks and no one cares except for a select few. Think about the poor owners of the dying coffee shops! They may not be millionaires like the people running Starbucks, but a person is a person… no matter how small.

It all began as any other Sabbath morning. I walked into Sabbath School and sat with my best friend Alizah and our friend Eric. After Sabbath school we failed to arrive in the main sanctuary on time, but because Alizah's parents sit in the second row we had to walk all the way to the front to be with them. While that morning's service was beginning we walked to the very front row and sat down. Almost immediately we whipped out our pens and paper so we could begin passing notes and doodling instead of listening. Throughout the sermon we whispered and restlessly passed notes totally ignoring what the pastor had to say. Towards the end of the sermon I had begun to feel guilty that we were being so disruptive and I thought that maybe I could trick the pastor into thinking that we were listening if I threw out an "amen" and then. With this plan in mind I proceeded to give out a very loud, very obnoxious "Amen!" Come to find out later, the pastor had not said anything that was needful of an "amen" but rather something more needful of thoughtful silence. As I shouted out my interjection, the pastor glared down at me as if I was the scum from the bottom of the sea and Eric and Alizah started to laugh. I'm sure that my face turned several shades brighter. I was sure that the entire church heard my rowdy "Amen!" and I decided to lay low for awhile hoping that people would forget in a few weeks.
This happened three years ago so you would've thought that I was the only one to remember my enthusicastic involvement in the sermon, but this is not so. Just two weeks ago, during vespers at Grass Valley Church, my youth pastor asked us to share embarrassing experiences. I shared my little incident with them. At the end of the story one of the kids said, "Yeah, I was sitting in the balcony and I heard it really loud." So much for them forgetting!
Although it's not pleasent, embarrassment isn't always a bad thing. Not only does it supply a good laugh down the road, it also keeps your "head from getting to big." In other words, those little mistakes and embarrassing moments that we have keep us from being arrogant punks.

Number 8 Face to Face

I want to meet Jesus. It is true that we meet Him whenever we have devotions or enter into prayer, but I want to see Him face to face. I want to be able to touch His robe just like the lady with the issue of blood, or to be able to spend a night talking with Him like Nicodemus. I can't imagine what it will be like to go to heaven. I absolutely cannot wait. I hope that God will be able to use me to bring many others as well. When we get to heaven I'm sure that we will all be speachless, but when we regain our tongues I want to ask Him a few questions. Here they are:

  1. How much do You love me? (I would ask this because I want to hear HIM tell me the story of all that He has done for me)

  2. Is my family here?

  3. Can I see your scars?

  4. Why did you let Alex's mom die of cancer?

  5. Sense all things work together for the good of those who love You, how did You use for good the incident when my dad shattered his foot?

  6. Did you use me to bring anyone to heaven?

  7. If so, who?

  8. Will you sing something for me?

  9. Can i touch Your scarred hands?
  10. In Revelation there is a passage that says there will be blood up to the horse's bridle at the battle of Armageddon. I don't understand this and no one could ever explain it to me, what does it mean?

Number 7 To Wear My Heart Upon My Sleeve

"Wear my heart on my sleeve"
-Shakespeare
To wear one's heart upon thine sleeve is to show thine emotions upon every breeze. The south wind blows and listeth and wither it goes thine pleasant daze pursues. Up from the north comes bitter cold the chills of ice and snow. With the cold comes anger new and old to be seen wherever it shall go. To wear one's heart upon thine sleeve is to show thine feelings in the breeze. Your sleeve is there for all to see the stains or patterns that on it be; the wind parades its way around with all the petals that it has found. You may not see the zephyr's face, but you will see its influence. That is how thy heart shall be, when thou wearest it on thine sleeve. The heart itself is not revealed, but its thoughts, feelings, emotions are then unsealed. It is a picture of thine inner poise. That is what it is to wear thine heart upon thine sleeve.

Number 6 Spanish Class, a Foreign Language in More Ways Then One

“Hola. Me llamo es Rojas. Como te llama?”
“Mucho gusto. Me llama es Maria.”
“Que vas a hacer ahorita?”
“Nada.”
“Me gut aria ir a comer.”
“Conoces alguin buen restaurante?”
“Si. Vamanos.”
I don’t know how much you understood of the Spanish conversation above, perhaps every word, which would be quite the opposite for me. When I was a freshman I took Spanish 1 and did very well in it. Now, three years later, I am taking Spanish 2 and have absolutely no clue what is going on. When we (the Spanish 2 students) enter the class room, Mrs. Santana immediately begins speaking to us in Spanish. She tells us our homework in Spanish, she explains our lessons in Spanish, and she answers any questions (which there are many) in Spanish. Lost would be an understatement as to how I feel in her class.
Right now we’re reading through a biography on H.M.S. Richard and every word is in Spanish. That’s right, every single word. She told us she doesn’t want us translating it in our heads or out loud, we’re supposed to just understand it but we don’t. The only people who do are those whose parents speak the language. I’m at my whit’s end.

NOTE:
I was unable to punctuate the Spanish part of my blog correctly for lack of knowledge on the use of this blog site. I appologize.

Number 5 Microtrends

A microtrend is a group of people (as small as 1% of the American population) who share an unorthodox hobby or preference (ex. Teens are picking up knitting as a pass time like never before, “soccer moms“ are now the fastest growing group of video-gamers, and tattoos are now not only for people with lower incomes ). This group of people may or may not grow, but they definitely affect society. So what is the reason for these strange choices and preferences of today’s Americans? I believe that it is the result of our country becoming more and more politically correct. What I mean is that I think that people have to be so careful about not offending another human that people feel like they can do whatever they want and there is much less peer pressure then there has ever been. This new freedom has caused a ski-rocketing of gay rights. Many people still don’t approve of gay marriages, but homosexuals are stepping out of the closet more and more and all their rights are remaining the same. 88 percent of Americans believe that homosexuals should have the same privileges as homosapians when it comes to the work place.
Believe it or not, this information has a lot to do with the political world. Hilary hired Penn (he did a major study on microtrends) because of the importance of appealing to the crowd when campaigning. With an understanding of microtrends she will be able to target certain groups of people and what they want so she can say the right things and therefore achieve more votes. I’m not sure as to whether Penn’s book about microtrends was published to boost Hilary’s voters, but if candidates check out his book I believe that their campaigns will be improved and their slogans changed.
So what about Weimar? Do we have any microtrends? I think that we do, for instance, several of the boys are now wearing their collars up instead of folded, girls are wearing tennis with their skirts (something that people who don’t go to Weimar don’t do) and we’re all vegans (maybe not willingly, but nonetheless we are). These are all things that are a particular of Weimar and seldom found outside its gates.

Number 4 September 11, 2001

I was at the coast in Fort Bragg, California. Me, my mom, little sister, brother, and grandma were on vacation and would be for the next several days. I remember vividly the surroundings on that terrible morning. I had fallen asleep laying on a sleeping pad the night before but when I woke up I was lying under it. My mom had called me and flipped on the tv. Peeking out from under my pad, I saw the images of two buildings covered in smoke. She briefly explained what was going on and then we both just looked on in horror. It didn’t seem real to me. I didn’t understand at the time how important this was, and the severity of this attack didn’t hit me for awhile.
It was incredible to think about the affects that it had on our country. Even though we are in California we still felt the repercussions of what happened. I am glad that I didn’t know anyone that was in those buildings, but a lady staying next to us while we were if Fort Bragg had a relative who was in the building. Luckily that relative was fine.
I don’t think that we should forget about 9/11, rather, I think that we should remember it and learn from what we did wrong. Now we are more alert and capable of stopping something like that from happening again.

Number 3 The Felling

It all started when we realized that we were smelling similar to a hobo from the Big Apple. It was definitely time to take a shower. Not before telling our principal our plans to clean up, we set out to locate the bathroom where we would cleanse ourselves from the stench that enwrapped us. Being the easily distracted children that we are, we found great amusement in walking on the logs along the foot path. One log particularly called after us and we immediately answered its beckoning and ran along the bark that clothed it. At the end of this log we saw something that aroused the beavers within us. Tall, rotten, and asking to be felled she stood in the clearing. Coming closer to its soft fibers we began tearing it apart with our bear hands. After several minutes of this it was evident that the tree was becoming too dense for us to continue to rip up, but this would not be the end.
The next day we returned wielding a hammer. Yes, she was goin’ down. Hack, hack, hack. Hay-hay tore into the innards of this old gal then I took a short turn, then Hay-hay again. After approximately 15 minutes of this we heard something, creeeeeeeeek, creeeeeeeek. “Timber!” we yelled in unison as we jumped out of the way. She was down, and we had conquered. Standing on the remnants of the tree we saw Andrew and John coming back from the showers. Soon, after our calling them, they came and saw the terrific feat that we had accomplished. But there was more. Excited by our story of the great fall, they were inspired to attack the stump. Unfortunately for them, time did not allow the conquest of the stump for there was many more adventures that we could not delay.

#2 Illegal Immigration

#2 Illegal Immigration

I believe that illegal immigration is a problem in the United States as a whole, but because of our location, California is one of the states that is hit harder by this economically life sucking disease. In California alone illegal immigrants cost us 10.5 BILLION dollars a year. Fifteen percent of the student body in CA is illegal costing us 7.7 billion to send them to school and 1.4 billion dollars of our hard earned money goes to health care for the people who are not even supposed to be here.
Some people may argue that our nation would collapse if we were to send Illegal immigrants back to their country. They might say that these cheap laborers are the people that hold up our economy. This cannot be for the following reason; they not only cost us billions of dollars to live here, but the money that they earn they are not spending here but sending it back to their families thereby taking money out of the US flow. Also, if they did not take the places of our lower paying jobs then more Americans could be working in their place wheretofore there would be less homeless in the United States.
Felipe Calderon (Mexican President) says that the flow of illegal workers to the United States isn’t going to stop but that the two countries need to work together. He isn’t doing anything to bridle these people, and why would he? They are making money and sending it back to Mexico so that the Mexican society and economy develops and grows larger. He also told US officials that illegal immigration is a fact of life and that they should just deal with it. I do not believe that this is the attitude that we should take on this subject. Illegal immigration is poisoning the US and we need to do something about it. It takes 1.1 billion dollars to incarcerate (or send the illegal immigrants back to wherever they came from) which is a much lower cost then the 10.5 billion that it costs to keep them here. I wish these people could stay and be able to take advantage of the opportunities that America provides, I just wish that they would do it legally and stop sucking the blood out of America through their illegal means.

#1 Code of Chivalry

In a modern day society a Code of Chivalry would look something like this:

  1. Be honest in the workplace even if it means that you may not get paid as much.
  2. Be slow to anger.
  3. Be loyal to your spouse.
  4. Respect those who are older then you.
  5. Watch out for people who are younger or feeble.
  6. Do your part for society. In other words, think about what you can do for your country, not what your country can do for you.
  7. Give to the needy.
  8. Seek to have a good reputation, but be willing to sacrifice it for a greater good.
  9. Follow the rules set out by the government unless they clash with those set out by God.
  10. Do not persecute those who believe differently then you, for you would want them to return the favor.
